Acupuncture & Toning: Tune-In for Solstice
Join Amira and Carrie Wise for a seasonal tune-in for the Winter Solstice. This community acupuncture and sound healing experience helps us align with the start of the winter season, helping us individually and collectively to shift internally and find stillness.
Location TBD! Please bring a yoga-mat, blanket, or whatever you need to create a comfortable “nest” to lie on for an hour. Please note that due to the nature of this event, we are not able to admit late-comers, so please arrive on time so that you can get set up and comfortable for the session.
Suggested Fee: $35 with a sliding scale of $25-$50 so that you can pay in alignment with what feels best for you.
Below are past offerings, please check back here for future workshops or feel free to be in touch if you are interested in setting up a class or workshop at your institution. Contact Amira
Poetry & The Genuine: Now I Become Myself
I am thrilled be co-leading this retreat at the beautiful Kirkridge Retreat Center in Pennsylvania with some of my favorite people in the world who inspire me everyday: my family. For writers of all levels of experience.
Using a variety of techniques taken from Writing Seminars, Circle of Trust groups, the Alexander Technique, and Dance/Movement Therapy, this retreat will provide tools for each of us to better understand how and when we move between being “centered” and “off center.” Additionally we hope to show how recognizing our present-moment experience can serve us in discovering our genuine voice and expression as we write our poems and share our stories.
Art of Breathing Introductory Workshop
In this experiential workshop participants will have the opportunity to learn about and explore how we can restore our natural breathing coordination and resilient movement of the three-dimensional torso. More information about the Art of Breathing.
Saturday 3:45 – 6:00 pm
The Center of Wellness, Carrboro
Suggested sliding scale: $30-$50
